Whether it was our mutual lack of brain freezes granting us supreme ice cream-eating abilities, Matt’s old fake ID just happening to be from Leah’s grandma’s hometown, or our shared first love for east Africa, the signs were there. After a few evenings-into-early-morning picnics, tent games playing Gin Rummy as we waited out hail storms, and long hikes with heavy packs that called for delirious and distracting silliness, it was all but confirmed we’d found a new bestfriend.
From the beginning, it was all a little kismet—the universe giving us subtle nudges in each other’s direction…
Since then, we've built a life full of love and a healthy amount of chaos. We've road-tripped across mountain passes, danced in the living room to songs Matt knows and Leah pretends to, ceremoniously brewed coffees with refills between word games, and tended our little garden—watering, weeding, and watching tiny green shoots grow into the meals we later cook side by side, sharing the day’s stories.
Leah brings the zoomies and imagination; Matt brings the grounding and authentic force, and together, we bring the dance moves. We are always pulling in the same direction, even when the path has taken unexpected turns. Now we’re making this forever and we truly can’t wait to do this thing! Thank you for being part of our story, it wouldn’t be complete without you.
